Black News Channel is seeking a Director of Research & Insights to establish their newly created Research and Insights function. The ideal candidate is a problem solving and proactive critical thinker that will be a key contributor to the sales organization, helping craft sales strategy through innovative audience insights that best position BNC in the marketplace.
Partners with sales leadership to advance a consultative selling strategy for BNC Portfolio of assets.
Develops a conceptual framework for the sales organization to approach advertisers at a strategic top-down level in order to demonstrate the breadth and power of the portfolio to address and move specific category and client KPI’s.
Determines the proper research methodologies and audience measurement strategies to meet BNC cross-departmental needs. This includes identifying the proper research vendors, establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, and managing research budget.
Leads a center of excellence focused on subject matter expertise in key advertising categories in order to maximize revenue potential for the portfolio as a whole, as well as reassess how sales organization goes to market in an evolving media landscape.
Applies emerging consumer data and analytics to assist in creating innovative media solutions with BNC content and platforms.
Contributes data-driven Insights for developing successful sales strategies that are instrumental for reaching revenue goals.
Analyzes, synthetases and generate qualitative and quantitative information relevant to advertisers for making marketing and media spending decisions.
Provides actionable insights for sales, marketing, and creative departments that will help in reaching established goals.
Assist sales in pulling post buy analysis reports. Must be computer literate and have good communication skills
Requirements & Skills:
Must be proficient in MS Office
Proficient in data analytics and storytelling using Nielsen, Comscore, etc
Exhibits knowledge and understanding of the television industry-relevant broadcast, cable, and new media, including research terminology and methodology.
7+ years experience in media/consumer research including experience in advertising effectiveness and ad sales marketplace positioning.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to bring data to life through visualizations and storytelling
