Sweet Potato pie was a strong tradition growing up. Mama made extra because we ate at least two pies on Thanksgiving Eve. It was later in life my passion for pies and baking emerged first while we homeschooled our children—then later as an adult.
Tweaking the recipes of my own mother, and my GODMOTHER’s My Ruby Brown and Mama Lucy I created my own special blend! As years passed I baked during the holiday season, selling a few 100 annually. Then I fell in love with a handsome man from Troupe County GEORGIA (the country). “You know I ate that lunch before I got down the road—your a pretty good cook young lady!” He wasn’t a sweet eater but he loved me and my pies.
