Atlanta Black Owned Relief (ABOR) is a non-profit that is based in the city of Atlanta and uses its mission to support black owned businesses and entrepreneurs thrive.
Our mission is to make sure we provide resources that will aid the growth of black owned businesses within our community. Our organizational business process includes implementing donation-based programs that aid black businesses. As we move forward we plan on expanding our vision to advocate for unity and change because our culture influences the workforce and society as a whole. The Accountant's objectives are to manage all financial accounting/operations, grants administration, policies, and procedures of the organization. This is a paid internal position that will be acknowledged as we begin the interview process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Month-End Process: Ensure all accounts are coded and classed correctly and assist the Executive Director with reconciling bank accounts and other finance related databases.
Management of Operational Accounts: Manage all financial resources and net income on record for the organization. Track the start and end date of each grant/contract, ensure reimbursements are completed on time, match expenses with the appropriate grant, report time, and file time-sheets with each grant file.
Book-keeping: Handles all bookkeeping records and participates in auditing for compliance purposes. Must be well versed in budget management and forecasting to allocate funds for future projects.
Grant/Contract Reporting: Provide financial data to complete proper reporting periodically, including pulling expenditure reports for the funding source.
Managerial duties: Provide daily support to staff by answering questions, providing back-up support when needed, completing payroll for the accounting team at the end of pay cycles. Overseeing tax compliance procedures and readiness to dispute high-level transactions.
Other duties as assigned: Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment and be willing to be adaptable. If given the opportunity you must be responsible for the confidentiality of the organization's proprietary information.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
A minimum of two (2) years of experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Proficient with Excel and Google Sheets
